Drunkenness. —Five first offenders .were dealt with in the usual manner. William Hart, William Williams, John Docherty, Robert Blacl_wi.il, and Robt. Assault. —Patrick Dennis Smythe. pleaded not guilty to committing an assault, on David' Green by striking him on the face with his clenched fist on Saturday night. After hearing evidence ills Worship convicted accused of committing a breach of the peace, and lined him £1, or in default one week's imprisonment. Michael Smythe and Robt. D. Green were charged with using threatening behaviour in n public place, and with causing a" breach of the peace. Each of the defendants was fined £1, in default, a week's imprisonment. By-law cases.—Thomas Brown, charged' with driving a vehicle round a "corner at other than a walking pace, was fine 10/, with costs 7/. Albert Calvert, for leaving his express unattended, was convicted and discharged. Arthur James Dennison was charged with allowing his horse to wander in a public place. Mr Russell appeared for defendant. The case was dismissed. A similar charge against Willini Knox was also dismissed. John Torrens, for allowing a marc and foal to wander in a public place, was fined 1/ and costs 7/. Frank White, .for leaving a earl.' standing in the public street, was convicted and discharged. Licensing Case. —The case police v. Endean was further adjourned until Wednesday next. Printers' Registration. — A charge against A. It. Miller, of gratuitously dispersing at Devonport a, leaflet in which the name and place of the printer was not printed, was dismissed. Mr Tole appeared for defendant. Prohibition Order. — A prohibition order was made against Alexander Whisker.
