THE CITY , HALL.
On Saturday evening there was a large attendance at the performance of the Gaiety Company in the City Hall. The audience was most enthusiastic, most of the items being encored. New songs and dances were introduced in the first part of the programme. Mr Frank Yorke received quite an ovation, it being his last appearance. Three coloured members named Jones, fresh additions to the strength of the Company, ma tie their first appearance and created a favourable impression owing to the new humour introduced. Miss Carter; also a new arrival, likewise established her popularity with the audience. The various songs and dances by Miss Lottie Lome, the Ling'ard Sisters, and Mr Fred Leslie were all well appreciated. Mr Joe Slater contributed two items entitled "Hebrew Fancy Ball," in which the dialect was well given, and for a well deserved encore rendered "The Crazy Doctors." To-night a monster double programme is announced, in which both Companies will take part.
