HERR ZIMMERMANN'S FAREWELL.
After several years' residence in this. city, during which time he has made. many friends, Herr Zimmerman,'thtt popular violinist, has decided to H move to Dune-din. Under these circum-1 stances it was decided to tender Hen Zimmerman a farewell concert on Sat. urday evening- in the Opera Houses-ait that gentleman has ever been ready tc. use his musical talent for the further-1 ance of any deserving case. The farewell concert was arranged by a niiml: ber of the friends of Herr Zimmerman-, and also the Old Chums' and S.chool\ fellows' Association. Mr Arthur Tow-,/ sey officiated as director of the concert^ and Mr Alf. Bariley played the accom-* paniments. Herr Zimmerman's <ioatributions to "the evening's entertaiu- ■ ment were Wieniawski's "Legend" aur-,; a composition of his own, both oi which were played in a masterly stylrj and loudly applauded. Mr Impey's.; orchestra played "The Golden Wetly ding" and "Pearl of Savoy": Mi|s s Sophie Oberg (pupil of Herr Zimmei"; man) contributed as a violin solo,"Souvenir de Hayden"; and Messrs At Partridge and C. McFarlane were e% cored for a banjo and guitar quicfe. step; Miss Coleta Lorrigan sang "Dor..; me" and-"Aye Maria"; Miss t Howan!, sang "Woodland Serenade"; a'ncl'Misf . L. Thomson. "Call Me Back." In sev era! instances obligatos were piaj^ef: by Herr Zimmerman. Mr HamiltoiVi Hodges sang "The Song oi th Toreador" in admirable style anfl^at ; deservedly recalled. Mr A. L. ES.wards also sang "Mary."
