OUR BOYS BOARD THE WAIWERA.
MORE ABOUT T-IE BOER WAR
News from our boys on board the Waiwera is news indeed. On Monday night the "Star" contained interesting letters from, members of the Contingent, and the "Graphic" of this week takes up the task of illustrating Ihe same. The current issue of that popular weekly contains a series of sketches showing the life of the Contingent on ship board. These being the first, and, so far as we know, me only pictures of the Contingem - doings during the first stage of their journey to the war, must prove of very special interest. Together with these ..re pencil sketches of interesting events in South Africa, together with an interesting resume of the position there, which came to hand by the Gothic on Monday. There is also a good picture of the Boer method of warfare, a line engraving of the signalling staff of the Gordon Highlanders, and other illustrations. Among* other attractions of the issue may be mentioned scenes at the All-Nations Fair, snapshots at Ellerslie on the Prince of Wales Birthday, the New Zealand athletes (winners of the championship of Australasia), reproductions of the pictures at the Society of Arts exhibition, and many other illustrations. The number contains over thirteen pages of pictures.
