PAEROA, Friday

At the Paeroa Police Court today, before Messrs Nathan, McAndrew, and Colelough, Justices, the following cases were dealt with: — Henry Foley V. Joshua Tetley, alleged assault, adjourned to the Ist November; It. J. Rusden v. William Waters, charged with obtaining £2 by false pretences, adjourned to Ist November; Ohinemuri County Council v. John Meadley, obtaining £1 S/ by false pretences, the property of the County Council. Prisoner pleaded guilty", and was sentenced to four weeks' imprisonment. He was also charged with making a false document, namely, forging the name of Robert Black to a receipt, and to an order for payment of money. After hearing evidence prisoner was ordered to take his trial at the Supreme Court on the latter charge.
