MINES RECORD.
The N.Z. Mines Record for September as usual contains an amount of valuable information. The illustrations in this number include maps showing principal mineral localities, N.Z.; plans of Ross Flat (West-land) deep-level drainage, showing locality of race, etc.; and Te Aroha Thermal Springs: views of bath-house and Domain. Referring to tlie Hauraki goldfields Hie Record states:—'There is no booming in connection with the Hauraki goldfields at the present time, but there is a marked improvement and more assured confidence, in the stability of the, mines at Coromandel, Thames. Karangahake, Waihi and Waitekauri." And after dealing with the developments in the Waihi mine the article concludes: "It will not be surprising if there is a large influx of capital to develop some of these properties during the. next few months."
