TAIRUA BROKEN HILLS,

Mr H. H. Adams, who has just returned from a visit of inspection to the Tairua Broken Hills Company's property, reports that the drive going in on the ore body north is in 26 feet and south 18 feet. In both faces of this drive gold is procurable by pounding and.panning off. The reef is 30 feet in width and the drive is put in about six feet from the foot wall and the other 15 feet from foot Avail. The loav level battery tunnel has been extended 40 feet during the fortnight, and it is expected the lode will be met in another 100 feet of driving. Already a quantity of wateris coming from the face. At the battery good progress is being made. The foundations are uoav being put in and the building frame constructed. It is hoped the battery Avill be in operation by the beginning of next year.
