FLOWER GARDEN.
This has been a splendid season for getting all classes of labour well forward in this department. Where the soil has not as yet been broken up with the fork in the mixed flower beds, such should be done at once, so as to get it into good condition for planting or sowing later on. Where the soil is of a poor, hungry character procure some AA'ell-rotled manure and bray it in the soil as the forking proceeds. It is useless to expect good lloAvers unless the soil is made rich enough for the plants to groAv strongly, and Avhere fit-st-elass results are required large quantities of manure must be used. Cinerarias coming into flower, give a little liquid manure occasionally, and keep the soil free and open. Anemones are tioav in full flo Aver.
Ranunculi, tulips, and hyacinths are just, coming into flower. All these will be benefited by being fed occasionally with liquid manure. Narcissi ' have done and are still doing Avell. The. late flowering varieties Avill also be benefited by similar treatment. ( Push on the planting out of all hardy perennials and annuals as soon as possible. The season is advancing A-ery quickly noAv, and these, plants take time to groAv, so as to produce their flowers in abundance. While they are growing the soil around them should be kept in a free, loose condition.
