IRENE (HAURAKI) GOLD MINE.

The tributers on the Irene mine at Kuaotunu have just completed a ' crushing of 325 tons of quartz for a yield of £207 30s 4d BUNKER'S HILL. ' A somewhat important telegram was forwarded this morning by the manager of the Bunker's Hill mine, Coromandel. It will be remembered that when work was resumed after fixing the winding plant for the shaft, driving commenced northwards, with the result that a few pounds of specimen stone were obtained. The telei gram this morning is of special interest as showing that the gold is also running on the south side of the shaft towards the Hauraki Company's property. It read as follows: —"121b of picked stone, going south towards Hauraki boundary."
