ASSOCIATION FOOTBALL
UNITED WIN THE CUP.
(United, 2 goals; Grafton, nil.)
Close on a thousand people visited the Domain Cricket Ground on Saturday afternoon to see the final for the Association Cup between Grafton and United. The game was fast and splendidly contested, United getting home the winners by two goals to nil. Half time was called without any score. In the second spell the United men pressed their opponents hard on several occasions, but the defence was very Bound, and generally succeeded in turning the tables on the attackers. "Well on in the second spell Rowlandson sent in a hot one which beat the Grafton goal keeper, and towards the end Rice, getting the ball from a kick °ut, dodged Hutchison and sent a low shot post Knott, scoring the second goal.
