THE CODLIN MOTH

(By Telegraph—Press Association.)

WELLINGTON, this day.

A suggestion was made some time ago that a bird known as the great titmouse, or Kohmeise, should be introduced to keep clown the codlin moth, but enquiries made by the Government biologist are not reassuring. It appears to be not at all certain that the bird does not do more damage, to fruit than .to the moth, and in America its introduction is being opposed. The Biologist therefore recommends the Government to wait &nd. see the result of experience elsewhere.
