COMMONS
MELBOURNE, June 21
The "Argus" says the fateful day ended in a most decisive victory for the national cause. The "Age" states that New South Wales accepted the Bill with an emphasis not to be taken.LONDON, June 21. The announcement of the result of the referendum in New South Wales ■was received with cheers in the House of Commons. It is' expected the Federal Enabling Bill will form a prominent subject in the Queen's speech at the opening of the next session.
Referring to the result of the referendum in New South Wales, the Times says the little Australians have been handsomely beaten and Great Britain is proud of the electors who have shown their good sense and appreciation of the central idea, setting aside questions where they are content still to wait by faith, including points affecting relations between the Colonies and the Mother Country.
The Standard foresees a triumph of eonsctructive statemanship.
