NAPIER, Tuesday.
Mr McLean, M.H.R., in addressing his constituents, said New Zealand had now a State Bank, and any Minis* ter could go and see what the state of a man's banking account was. Mr Tegetmeier, general manager of tuß Bank of New Zealand, by order of the directors, writes to the Hawke's Bay Herald, saying if the remark is meant, to apply to his bank he is directed to give it an unqualified
