Rouse, junr.. of Birigambih and spld as a A-earling at Randwick for 135 guineas. He is engaged in the V.R.C. Derby, A.J.C. Deroy, and other important events.

The A.J.C. Doneaster Handicap winner, Vigorous, who has been sold to a buyer for India, isa hardy stamp of a horse, with plenty of racing in him. being now only three years old. and he will probably do.well in the East. It would not be surprising to learn that the intention is to have him prepared for the Viceroy's Cup—the most valuable race in India—to be run at Calcutta at the end of the year.

A writer in London 'Truth' Says: — I mentioned recently that the Duke of Portland's two-year-olds, by Carbine, at King-sclere, clo not compare favourably with the Duke of Westminster's team in the same stable. At Christchurch on Wednesday last the three- year-old colt Conqueror, was bought by Mr J. Grigg for 55g5.; Nantes went to Mr C. Dalgety for 135gs.,'and Benzoin fell to the bid of M. M. Lagan at 130 .s. Tolstoi and Courtier were not offered.
