lhe Aveather is delightful for the holiday. Pleasure seekers started early to' take part in the various gatherings. The principal attraction is the C.J.C. races, and there is every promise of a record attendance and interesting racing. The volunteers will hold a sham fight over country in the neighbourhood of NeAV Brighton at noon. The Premier unveiled a tiki at Kaiapohia, at Avhich there Avas a large assembly of Europeans and Maoris. A Band of Hope demonstration in Hagley Park, picnics, tram and rail excursions are also fully patronised.

WELLINGTON, Sunday
Glorious weather has been enjoyed for the holidays, and there is every appearance of its continuing over tomorroAv. There was a church parade to-day of the volunteers iioav in camp, at Avhich Bishop Wallis officiated. At the conclusion of the service the bishop presented Sergeant-Major Finn Avith the Imperial medal for meritorious service, Captain HoAvie. of the Wairoa Mounted Rifles, Avith the longservice medal, and Captain Hughes, on behalf of the Wanganui Rifles. Avith a.. silver ,salver, presented by Colonel Fox for annual volley firing.
