THE HOLIDAY.
Full advantage Avas taken of the lovely weather to-day by thousands of people on pleasure-making bent. The water excursions Avere particularly Avell patronised, the various steamers bound for different resorts being croAvded with Avell-dressed, happylooking pleasure-makers. The Clansman, Avhich AA'as the last boat to leave for more distant places, was literally packed by people wishing to visit Coavcs Bay, Waiheke. The Devonport Ferry Company had its steamers running to Rangitoto, Lake Takapuna, Motutapu, the fishing grounds, St. Helier's Bay, as well as to the usual places inside the harbour, and the boats were, all well patronised. There were also numerous land excursions by 'buses, brakes, and vans. The 9.3.0 train to the Waikato Avas a lonoone, having on board fully 500 passengers. Large croAvds visited the racecourse, Avhile those more martially inclined went out to Ayitness the shaui-fig-lit.',. ... .-■
