Messrs Hunter and Nolan report— Horse feed, seeds, grain: With the exception of maize a steady demand has prevailed for a sufficient supply. We quote: Maize on wharf 2/8 to 2/9 per bushel,- ex store 3/, feed oats 1/10 to 2/, dun oats 2/, barley 1/8 to 2/, barley meal 6/ per cwt, bran £3 per ton. Grass and clover seeds at the previous week's quotations. Horses: Unusually large numbers have been brought forward and disposed of at prices slightly in favour of the vendor. The entries for disposal by auction at the Durham Yards were particularly numerous, and scarcely a lot remained uncleared. Heavy draught at from £12 to £20, medium draught £9 to £14 2/6, light harness £3 10/ to £10 15/. hacks £3 to £9 5/ a pair of farm horses £27 10/, spring carts £9 15/ to £14 10/. roadsters £9 5/ to. £12 iO/. Wool, hides skins, tallow, bones-. Rather a large quantity were pitched, and briskly competed for on Tuesday, especially good conditioned cow hides. We quote: Stout ox hides 4*d to 5Jd lb. medium an,d light steer 3id to 4Jd, cow Zld to 3ld, stags' ljd to 2£d, kip 3}d to 32d, calfskins 2^d to 33d, tallow 12/6 to 14/6 cwt, bones £3 ton, sheepskins 1/9 to 3/6 each, lambskins 1/ to 1/9, pelts, salted, 1/ to 1/10, damaged Id to 9d .each. Wool: Crossbred fleece 4Jd to 5d lb, merino, inferior, 4id to sd, lambs' 4d to 4}d, several bales log stained and inferior sold at from 3fsd to 4d, locks l£d to 13d, pieces 13d to 2?d. Cattle: At the Newmarket Yards on Tuesday dairy and store stock were penned in usual numbers. Fat stock were yarded in less numbers than usual and improved somewhat in prices. Fat oxen sold at from 14/ to 16/ per 1001b, cows 13/ to 15/ per 1001b, fat steers brought from £4 2/6 to £7 17/6, cows £2 5/ to £4 12/6 dairy cows sold well and brought from £3 10/ to £6 12/6, dry cows £1 7/6 to £2 3/. heifers 17/6 to £1 15/, calves 12/ to £1 3/, grown steers £3 7/6 to £3 15/. Sheep were yarded" in scarcely-average numbers, and sold at last week's rates. We quote: Fat ewes at from 6/9 to 9/3, fat wethers S/3 to 11/9, lambs in short supply sold well at from 7/3 to 11/9. Pigs: Porkers soM at from 15/ to £1 8/, weaners 7/ to 14/ each.

Messrs Alfred Buckland and Sons' report.—At the Haymarket auction meadow hay has brought 3/ to. 3/3, oaten sheaves 1/6 to 1/9 cwt, wheat straw 16/ to 21/ load, Dun oats 1/9, barley 1/7, maize, damaged. 2/5 bushel, ex store maize 2/10, wheat 2/6, oats 1/10, cocksfoot 6/6, Poverty Bay rye 5/6, Canterbury ryegrass 4/ bushel, red: clover 6d, white 9d, rat-tail lOd, redtop Sd lb chaff £2 10/, bran £3 10/, sharps £4 10/, pressed oaten hay £2 10/, meadow hay £3 10/ Bunyarra bonedust £6 10/, guano £3 10/ ton, maize on wharf 2/8 the bushel. On Friday horse stock yarded numerously sold more freely than for several weeks Strong farm horses ranged from £12 to £19, medium strength £9 to £10, horse, cart and harness £13, gig £13, cart £5 were of the things sold. On Tuesday hides 3gd to 4}d, kip 3d to 3Jd, calfskins steer hides were from 33d to 5?, d, cow hides 3gd to 4|d, kip 3d to BJd, calfskins 31d to 33d, rough fat lid lb, bones 3/0 cwt Sheep: Pelts 1/2 to 1/8, skins 2/7 to 3/s,'lamb skins 1/1 to" 2/2 each, in bags and dumps, merino wool sd, longwool 4*d, lambswool 4Jd lb. At Pukekohe on Monday the rough weather occasioned a-small muster of cattle. Those yarded sold well, dairy cows up to £6 7/6, dry cows £2 12 fat heifers £3 5/, steers £5 2/6, calves 15/ each.

The Loan and Mercantile Agency Company report.—At our usual sale on Tuesday we submitted an average catalogue, and prices were firm for both hides.and | skins. Hides: We sold picked ox to Gad, lb stout 5Jd to 52d, medium 4Jd to sd, light 33d to 4Jd,- cow 32d to 4d, picked to I 4id kip 313 to 3ld, calf 3d to 4d, stags 2Jd to 2Sd. Sheepskins: Salted 1/4 to 2/4 each, lambs' 1/6 to 2/6. Tallow .13/ to K/cwt. Tails 1/7 dozen. Horsehair 1/ to 1/4 lb, cowhair 8d to 9Jd. Maize: The Aotea arrived from the East Coast districts with i a ~ood sized parcel, and this coming in on j top of a fairly large shipment from j Whakatane and Opotiki, the market; weakened Id bushel, the present price be- j ing 2/71 bushel. Oats: Shipments to arrive by Poherua are worth 1/9J on wharf. Chaff- The market has a somewhat; stronger feeling, but so far no rise has taken place, and last week's qu6tation of £2 ton at rail still holds good. Messrs G. W. Binney and Sons' report.— On Tuesday we cleared" a large catalogue of hides, sheepskins, tallow, bones wool, etc Hides: Competition brisk. Picked ox sold up to 62d, extra stout sid to 53d, stout 42d to sd, medium and light 4d to lid, cow up to'4gd, best lines aid to 4d, wet 3Jd to 32d, kip 33d to 4d, call M^to 4d. qtae 2id to 3d per lb, damaged hides 2d to 3d ferlb, local cow from 15/ to 16/, picked up to ,1/ each.'
