MAGGIE MOORE-H.R. ROBERTS COMPANY.
'THE: SILENCE OF DEAN MAITLAND' TO-NIGHT.
The third performance of 'Struck Oil' was given last evening" in Abbott's Opera House by the Maggie MooreH. R. .Roberts Dramatic Company to a large and delighted audience. Miss Moore and Mr Roberts and all the other members of ,the-company did as well as heretofore, and the production was in every way successful. This evening the company will produce 'The Silence of Dean Maitland.' The piece is a most attractive dramatised version by E. Lewis Scott of the famous novel of tha£ name. The Silence of Dean Maitland was played here some yea-rs ago by Walter Bentley, but the present play is an entirely new version, being a special dramatisation for Mr Roberts. The Southern papers all speak very of the production, which is said to be a splendid one. In the cathedral scene, which is very impressive, there will be a full choir of robed chorister boys. Mr Roberts will play the Dean, and Miss Moore .will take the part of Lilian,, and their acting in these characters is said to b"e a triumph of emotional work. 'The Silence of Dean Maitland' will be repeated on Saturday evening, there being a sacred concert set do.wn for to-morrow (Gpod Friday) night. On Easter Monday evening the company will stage the celebrated 'Trilby . Burlesque.' Only two nights of 'The Silence of Dean Maitland' are announced, and playgoers shtould not miss these <pportunities of witnessing tfys powerful'play.
