The ordinary meeting of the Devonport Borough Council was held last evening, Mr J. C. Macky (Mayor) presiding. Most of the business transacted was of a routine character. Some discussion took place on the proposed drainage scheme, which will, if carried out, make Devonport's drainage exceptionally good. It is expected that the poll for the drainage loan will be carried. Remnant Sale.—Finding we have a large number of remnants in oilcloths, linoleums, carpets, Chinese and Japanese mattings left from our great cash sale, we have determined to clear all these next Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday at half-price. Now is the time for cheap floor coverings.—Tonson Garlick Co., Ltd.—(Ad.)
