V.R.C. AUTUMN MEETING.
The Autumn Meeting of the Victorian Racing Club will be continued tomorrow, "when the Australian^ Cup comes up for decision. Taking Saturday's form as a guide, the finish should be fought out between Bobadil and Wait-a-bit, and it would appear the 3-year-old will have a big task on hand "to defeat his older rival. The result of the Newmarket Handicap came as a great surprise so far as Auckland is concerned, and the liabilities of the local ring will only amount to about ioO. Forest, the winner, is a four-year-old .gelding- by Forest King- from Young Lillian, the property of Mr T. Uphill, who purchased him from Mr T. S. Clibborn at the Kandwick yearling- sales for 32A guin- | eas. He claims as his best performance winning the Moonee Valley Trial Handicap, five furlongs, with 8.3; Maribyrong Riverside Plate, five furlangs and a.quarter, with 7.13; the Geelong Trial Stakes, live furlongs, with 7.11; the Caulfleld Kookaribb 'I'rial Stakes:, five furlongs and a quarxer, with 8.1, and the Newmarket Handicap, on Saturday. He was placed on four other occasions.
