THE SHAREMARKET.
Several good lines of Talisman shares changed hands to-day on the Exchange at 12/, and more could have been placed at that figure. Mahara Royal shares also changed hands at 2/, and buyers of May Queens advanced to 4/6 without securing parcels. Waitekauri shares were a little firmer, 32/0 being offered, and Bunker's Hills had demand at 2/. In Standard stocks transactions took place in Auckland Gas (old issue) at £14 10/.
Buyers came in for Hikurangi Coal at 9/0, and Ralph's Taupiri firmed up to 4/10, with no sellers under 5/2. Union Oil shares were also better, 19/ beingoffered, with no sellers under 20/.
