CONFLAGRATION IN NAPIER.
NAPIER, December 13. ; A fire in Emerson-!-treet early this morning destroyed a store owned by Mr \V. It. Blythe, and a fine block of i shops, the property of Mr W. H. Rathbone, of Waipawa, occupied by A. Walker (fruiterer), E. C. Smith (painter), Mrs P. Derbyshire (dairy), and T. Williams (watchmaker). The insurances are:— Rathbone's building( erected at a cost of £1,600) £1,000, in t,he New Zealand; Blythe's warehouse (valued at £1,200), £800° in the Royal; stock stored (valued between £700 and £900), £500 in the Hamburg and Magdeburg; Walker, £100 in the South British; Williams, £415 in the Northern; Derbyshire (estimated loss £500) uninsured: "Smith (estimated value £400) in-' sirred-for £120 in the North Queensland.
