CHIMSTCHURCH. this day

The third wool, sale of the series took place to-day, when there was a good attendance of Home. Continental and foreign buyers. 'The catalogues comprised'.l2.soo bales, and the condition of the wool was much the same as at the two previous sales, a considerable proportion being earthy and dingy. Competition was fairly good. Superfine half-bred and Merino showed tin advance of a farthing as compared with the previous sale, while, good cross-bred-and medium wool held their own, but coarse, coated descriptions were a farthing and a halfpenny lower.

The New Zealand Loan and -Mercantile Company have received a cablegram, from their London office advising that the Mercantile brand butter shipped by the Gothic sold at the high average of 110/G per cwt.
