WELLINGTON, November 22

A fire broke out last night on the premises of Anderson and Co., wholesale produce • merchants, situated off Willis-street. . The brigade, took some time in locating the seat of the outbreak, but once this was accomplished they soon obtained a mastery over the flames. The damage to^the build-ing-sis not very serious, but the stock is a g-pod <3eal darpag-ed. by smoke and Wiiter.

Anderson's stock and machinery are insured for £1100 in the National office. The damage is not very great.

CHRISTCHURCH, November 22

A fire this morning destroyed, Clayton's boot factory, a one storied wooden building at the corner of Liehfield and Madras streets. The building was owned by Sir Westby Percival, and insured for £200 in the London and Lancashire. The contents were insured for £740 in the Manchester.
