A man whose name is supposed to be Scobie. a butcher on the Loughmore station, fell from the platform of a railway carriage on the train from Christchurch South last evening, about a mile past Burnham. The train pulled up smartly on the enginedriver being communicated with. The man was found on the line dead, the wheel!) haying crushed his head. The body was taken on to Ashburton by the same train. An inquest will be held
