KAURI GUM MARKET.
AUCKLAND, Thursday.
Prices for gum of all grades. showed very little alteration during- tlie pastmonth. Supplies Avere if anything a little heavier but the demand Avas quite.equal to maintaining a steady market at full rates. During the latter part of the month buyers Avere less anxious to operate because no vessel Avas loading for NeAv York direct, but the safe arrival of the Nellie Brett soon put business on its old footing. Supplies of East Coast gum continue to come in freely but a proportion being of A-ery poor quality had to be sold at loAver rates. Exports for the month are: To Europe, per Elingamite, 4 tons; Waihora, 12 tons; Gothic, 97 tons; John O'Gaunt, 12 tons; Waihora, 5G tons; and Tndrama.yo, 100 tons. To NewYork: Per Gothic, 25 tons; Indramayo, 69 tons. Total, 441 tons. The supplies from mail to mail are about 911 tons. The Nellie Brett is loading for NeAv York, and the Star of England for: • London.
