CRICKET.
The annual meeting of the Wailii j Cricket Club was held last evening, j and proved of an enthusiastic nature, j donations of several bats, etc., being promised as trophies. Probably two \ senior teams will be formed, and the j club has decided to join the O.hinemuri j Cricket Association. Evidently cricket j is going to 'boom' in Ohinemuri this Season. —(Own Correspondent.) The Auckland Cricket Club will hold , a practice in the Domain to-morrow i (Saturday), 24th, and on the following j Saturday will open the season with j two matches—the first eleven v. next | fifteen, and the next eleven v. remain- j der of club. \ Last evening the Smith and Caughey ; C.C. was converted into a club con- j nected with the infantry corps in that establishment. It will bear the same title as the company. Officers were elected for the season, and Messrs A. Thomson and M. Atkinson will repre- | sent the club at the meeting of dele- j "■ates to form a Battalion Cricket Union.
