GOLD RETURNS.
AN INCREASED OUTPUT.
* INCREASE OVER £9,000.
The returns from the various sections of the goldfiekls for the past month., operations are highly satisfactory, as there is a decided increase upon last month's output, apart from the fact that included with this month's totals are several that came to hand too late to swell the yield last time. The Ohinemuri district lias come to the front wonderfully this time, as record returns were obtained by several of the leading companies. Still larger returns may be looked for in the future, as the N.Z. Crown Mines extra 20 head of stampers were not running the whole of the month, and vanners have been added at the Woodstock mine, which are expected to result iv an increased saving of bullion when they are fairly at work. The return from the Komata Reefs mine this time is about double the former one. Both the Thames and Coromandel districts also show an increase in the output this time.
