SHAREMARKET.
Sales were reported on the Exchange to-day of Waihi stock at £5 each. N. Z. Crowns were enquired for at 15/0, but there were no sellers under 17/0. Alpha shares firmed a little, 1/4 being offered to-day. Royal Oak shares were also in better enquiry, 1/5 being offered. Demand commenced this morning for Barrier Reefs, but as lid was the best price offered no sales resulted. In Standard stocks a sale of S.'/j. insurance took place at 06/, and there were iurther buyers at that figure. Other insurance stocks had good demand, and a.s high as 23/ was offered for N.Z. Accident, but the lowest seller asked 24/. Gisborne Gas shares were a shade firmer, 40/6 being offered to-day. Other stocks showed no alteration.
