Karaka Block Syndicate.—From the stopes on No. 3 reef ore of very fair grade is being obtained. The reef has been cut on the other side of the slide in the south end of the low level, and is producing ore of first class quality. In the north°face the reef also gives loose prospects of gold. About ten tons of ore are now ready for treatment and arrangements have 'been made for the crushing. Lucky Maori (Kuoatunu).—-At No. 1 level several leaders have becu met with in the crosscut, and splendid prospects have been obtained front mullockv pockets and also from the stone. A small mullocky lead has opened out to about Cm, showing very coarse gold in mullock, with dabs of gold on the hangingwall. About six tons of loose stuff was put through the sluice, with result of 4oz of amalgam. Quart/.] after bciiiK sluiced, is put into a paddock for crushing when battery is erected. Queen Victoria.—Driving is still proceeding through nice country. The leader is about tho same, highly mineralised, showing colours in the stone.
