Mr Fickett, engineer of the Nelson City Council, is exhibiting here a pateut_app» r' atus for working ship's boats. ' BlocKS, falls, and davits are dispensed with, ana both ends of the boat go into the water together. The boats are tied rigidly against the ship's side and cannot be stove in. Ujej can be lowered, without the vessel slow»a down, in ten seconds.
