THE SOUDANESE REVOLT.

VOTE TO CATHOLIC MISSIONS.

LONDON, March 4.

The House of Commons rejected Mr Labouchere's motion to reduce the vote for the maintainance of the Uganda protectorate.

The Hon. G, N. Curzon, exonerated Major McDonald of all blame connected with the mutiny of the Soudanese troops under his command. He also stated that a military organisation Avas being started in the protectorate, which Avould be free of all blemishes.

The House of Commons voted £10,000 towards Catholic missions in Uganda, as compensation for damages and injuries sustained during the religious revolt in 1892.
