THE OPUATIA BLOCK.

Some 5,700 acres of the Opuatia Block on the western bank of the Lower Waikato River were offered for sale and selection at the Crown Lands Office yesterday. • There were several applications for each section. The country. is bushcovered land of good quality. The following were the successful applicants for the sections, the conditions being cash, occupation with right of purchase or lease in perpetuity : Section 3, 324 acres, W. C. Flexman ; section 7, 449 acres, E. F. Muir ; section 1, 409 acres, W. J. Priest; sections, 479 acres, Jas. Gurney; section 6, 393 acres, Wm. Pellow ; section 9, 262 acres, H. J. Gurney ; section 8, 110 acres, Annie A. Glasgow. The following miscellaneous sections werealsodisposed of : —No. 7, Wharchine, Jos. V. Grant (cash); E25, Oruawharo, A. V. Hey wood (0.R.P.); 35, Papakura, H. J. Gilberd (0.R.P.) ; 7 XV. Waoku, E. J. Hawkings (O.R.P).
