MELBOURNE, December 11

Thirty thousand people witnessed the Austral Wheel Race, which was won by Carpenter, of Victoria, Body, of New Zealand, being second, and Scott, of Victoria, third. Body took command as the final lap Avas entered, and lead almost to the finish, when Carpenter, by a fine spurt, caught the leader and got home by half a wheel. Time, 4min 41 l-sth sec. Five-mile International Race : Body, 1; Ken Lewis, 2; Green, 3. Won by three lengths. Time, 12min 4 2-sth sec.
