FIRE AT NARRABRI.
SYDNEY, December 11
A fire at Narrabri destroyed a large business block in the centre of the fcnvn, comprising twenty-six business places and offices, chiefly built of wood. The damage is estimated at £20,000.
A WOMAN SHOT,
SYDNEY, December 12.
A tightrope-walker named Holmes, alleged to be jealous of his wife, sent two revolver bullets at the woman's head, and one through her hand. The victim is not expected to recover.
ATHLETIC TEAM FOR ENGLAND,
SYDNEY, December 12.
The provisional, selection of the athletic team to proceed to England embraces Rowley and Rosengrave, from New South Wales'; Hori Eruera and Holder from New Zealand; Cumming, from Victoria; and Campbell, from Queensland. As Eruera cannot go, the Auckland walking champion Creamer or the Dunedin distance runner, Bennett, is likely to be included in the team.
