A case of attempted suicide is reported from Apia, Sanioa. A young man who had become despondent wrote a note to one of his friends, an overseer on the Vailele plantation, stating that he was -tired of life, and intended to kill himself. He 'went into a q.uiet part of the plantation and with a razor which he had in his possession hacked at his wrist, without, however, doing much damage. After he had lain in the bush for four days he was found, still alive, by one of the black boys and taken to Apia. He is now out of danger.
