THE HOLIDAY.

The, fine weather ..to-day . was taken advantage of by large numbers of holidaymakers and pleasure-seekers, and the various excursions from the city to the numerous bays and inlets in the harbour were well patronised. The steamer Clansman, which left for Waiheke at 9.30, was very well patronised, as was the Wellington, which proceeded down to Waiwera at 10 o'clock. The Devonport ■ Ferry Company's steamers ran regular trips to Takapuna, Rangitoto, St. Helier's, and Motutapu, and carried large numbers of picnickers to these favourite spots. The s.s. Kia Ora left for Putiki Bay, Waiheke, with a large crowd on board. The Rose Casey left for Mahurangi at' 10 o'clock with a fair number on board. The p.s. Eagle, which convey. the Pi,tt-street Wesleyan Sunday-school scholars and friends down to Motuihi, was well filled.
