AQUATICS.

Last evening the final heat of the first round in connection with the West End Rowing Club's trial fours was rowed in the harbour, the result being a win for A. Bailey's crew, J. Hewson's being second, and P. Hales, third. Bailey's crew won by a-quarter of a length. On Wednesday evening W. Conway's crew won their heat, the second crew being Cooke's, and the third P. White's. The final heats are to he rowed to-morrow at the West End Rowing Club's "At Home," the crews engaged in the final rounds being those stroked by J. Maxwell, A. Wright, G. 0. Stephenson, F. Young, H. Matthews, W. Conway, and A. Bailey. St. George's Rowing Club will be "at home " to-morrow afternoon to their many friends and supporters. Members will dispense afternoon tea at the boathouse, Judge's Bay, when the adjoining grounds of " Bertley," overlooking the beach, have been very kindly placed at the disposal of the Club. Trial fours will be rowed for trophies presented by the Commodore, Mr S. Thorne George. Crews have been in active training for the past three weeks, and in response to careful coaching are rowing Avell. Some good racing should he witnessed. ,
