RESCUE WORK.

WELLINGTON, this day. A deputation representing the Salvation Army was introduced to the Premier, and Brigadier Hosking briefly explained the rescue work done by the army in the various centres during the year, and also went into the question of' juvenile depravity. _ The Premier expressed himself pleased with the information"given by the deputation, and was grateful for the splendid work done by the Army in connection with the colony's neglected and criminal classes. He particularly thanked the deputation for the valuable information given him on the question of juvenile crime, and stated that the Cabinet had willingly agreed to place the sum of £1,500 on the Estimates for rescue v ork, a portion of which would be allocated to the Salvation Army.
