AMERICAN SHIPPING.
Writing under date of October 9th, Messrs W. H. Peabody and Co. report: Freights are quiet and steady, and are without change. We quote, Dunediu, Lyttelton, Wellington and Auckland, 20c. per cubic foot. Since our last report the barque Samar was despatched for Wellington and Auckland on September 15th. The barque Abiel Abbott is expected to sail for Auckland on October 15th.
