Finance.—The Secretary submitted a summary of receipts and disbursements for the six months ending September 30th, 1897, which showed that the receipts (indndin" credit balance on March 31st, m 8s sd) were £11,049 18s 2d, and the Expenditure was £9958 4s Id, leaving a credit balance of £1091 14s Id. The estimated income for the next six months was letdown as £11,534 Is lid and the expenaitore £10,714 7s 6dHouse Surgeon.—The Board decided to Increase the salary of Dr. Pabst, House jtoreeon, from £225 to £250 per annum. Children's Hospital Plans.—Thehonorary jnedical staff forwarded a \etter objecting to the plane for the proposed Children's fed at the Hospital.—After some discuslk Mr McCabe moved that the honorary Baikal staff should be asked to confer with tie Board on the matter of their objections to the plans. This was lost, and the Board drafted" tosimp'tyreceive the letter. Hospital.—The medical superintendent reported that there were 94 male and 36 female inmates in the Hospital. Four cases of scarlatina and one of typhoid fever had been admitted during the fortflight.
