ONEHUNGA.
An election to fill the three vacancies in the Onehunga Borough Council took place yesterday. There were six candidates, Messrs Fleming, .Jackson, Rowe, Shaldrick, Skinner and Stoupe. The result of the poll, which was declared at half-past seven, was as follows :— John Lowe 2fß Charles C. Fleming 199 .John Stoupe IX4 L. It. Skinner ]f>9 .1. D. Jackson 147 J, J. Shaldrick 100 Informal 3 Captain Richardson, who oliiciated as I.eturning Otliccr, declared the first three duly elected. Mr..!. J. Hutchison acted ■as pull clerk, Mr C. K. Jell's as scrutineer for Mr J. J). Jackson, and Mr C. Coldham for Mr C. Skinner.
