At 2 a.m. day while the barque was under the n lower topsails, forstopsail and forotopJt staysail, a sudden squall blow every nil to ribbons. . The vessel was now in a critical position. .ho lav in the treugb of the sea without a titch of canvas, the eeaa breaking ovor hor tiaually. Sail was made on tho vessel !«°_gon aB possible, a fresh staysail and tho JL|,d main3ail being set, and tho barquo vto till Monday morning, when tho Sitter began bo moderate. Early that morning about one o clock the trind without any warning suddenly veered Lad to tbe west, and a heavy squall truck the barque, bub fortunately did no Lmasre- In the evening tho wind freshened nn ncain. starting from tho east, nnd !fc into S.E. and S.S.W. The de continued until Wednesday morntag and did soma damage. A sea breaking on board smashed open tho j|| 8 y floors, and broke the etovo and most of, the cooking utensils, and simply Reared tho docks of everything movable. ltd weather did nob moderate until Friday- ISbh instanb. In the morning all A.Bilabh_ .oil was seb, and ainca thon light o i,n(l E, winds were experienced until the 22nd, when the windhauiod into bhe north. Its Three Kings were sighted on the 25th.
