Wellington, this day. The Mayor has a scheme prepared with detailed proposals for legislation bo repay overdrafts and restrict them in future, to provide for a water supply on high levels, and money for urgent works which cannot be done out of income, to widen and extend streets, including fchs abolition of the Basin Reserve and purchase of another recreation ground, and, finally, to buy the Miramar Peninsula, on the left hand entrance to the harbour, for uae as a public park, throw open tho eastern Town Belt for building purposes, and extend tbo city boundaries to Miramar.
