On Saturday ©voning, Juno 26th, a rare treab was provided for tho children of tho Mangero and tho Mangere Bridge Public Schools and their frienda in the now Public Hall, Mr Charles Cooper having been engaged to exhibit his fine limelight views (about 80 in number), which gave the children a splendid representation of thochiof evonta and places, Tho firßb series of viows was described by Mr J. E. Taylor and the rest by Mr E. Allen. In addition to this Mr Jas. Graham very kindly gavo a free exhibibion of the wonderful powers of hia phonograph. Mrs Neavo, Miesoa Annie and Edilh Taylor, and Mr J. IS. Taylor playod several lively orchestral pieces. Mr tligginsgavea capital rendering of " The Death of Nelson," wibh cornet accompaniment by Mr Alfrod Bray (encored). Miss Annie Taylor eang " For Hearth and Homo" in excollenti afcyle, and nlao tbo tine song, •• God Bless the Prince of Wales." with chorus. Tho " Army and Navy," duett, was capitally rendered by Mr Higsjina and Mr J. E. Taylor in front of a line battle scene ab sea.
Tho concert to ba giv9n by the Ladies' Liodorkranz nexb Monday evening, at the Opera House, will be somewhat of a departures from all previous efforts of the Sociaty. Quite a new style of music has been studied by the members for this concorD and "The Fmlarid Love Song " haa besn composed expressly for the Society by the talented conductor, Mr Arthur Towaoy. Barnby'a masterpiece, "Victoria, oar Queen," will bo rendered in honour of bhe Queen's Record Reign. Amongst tha soloists are Miss Mabel Tilly, Miss Ella Farrell, Mr Charles Kisaling and Mr Keesing (violin Roloist), the Missea Carrigan and tho Lioderkranz sextette are also in the programme. The concerb should be a great success. It ia notificid that tho box plnn opens at Mosera Wildman and Lyell's to-morrow morning.
A very fine programme haa been prepared by Horr Zimmermann's for hia sixth annual chamber concert thafe takes place in tho Opera House on Thursday next. Some beautiful items will be rondored by Herr Ziinnaermann pupils, tho Original Banjo, MandoliD, Guitar Club are down for several items, as are Misses C. Lorrigan, Thomson, Yatos, and Messrs G. M. Reid, Moni?. Henry Caaier and Horr Zimmormaan will also perform No. 9 Kreufzer isonafca) by Van Beothovon. Hi 3 Worship the Mayor, P. Dignans Esq., has given his patronage, and will be present. Tho stage decorations are in the hands of Mr A. A. Partridge, who will also lea1} the Club's items.
