Christchurch, Wednesday. The Women's Council to-day upheld the action of the executive in transferring the annual session to Christchurch. The Council tendered their thanks to Mr Faith* full Begg, M.P., for hia efforts on behalf of women's suffrage in England. Mrs Wells read ft paper advocating land nat.onalisaMon. It was resolved •« That the time has come when the municipal franchise shonld be on the same basis as the Parliamentary residential qualification." In the evening Mrs Bullock read a paper advocatine the election of women on the char.table aui boards and the organisation of ohwitable bodies. She discountenanced cheap sales aud low wages. It was resolved, lftae bhe Council is of opinion that women should have seats on all local bodies dealing with charitable aid."
