The Weatern Maori election petition, in which Ropato Te Ao petitions againsb the return of Henare Kaihau, waa opened thia morning before tho Chief Justice and Mr Juatice Conolly. Mr Baume, of Auckland, appeara for Kaihau, and Sir R. Sboub for tho petitioner. Proceedings aro likely to laab.some days.
