CHARGE OF OVER-CROWDING A STEAMER.
At bhe Police Courb thia afternoon (before Mr Brabant, S.M.), a charge was aeb down for hearing againsb James Robertson, master of bhe Union S.S. Co.'s Bbeamer Mahinapua, who was charged wibh thab on tbe 3rd of Match, ab Onehunga, ho did convoy on board the steamer 85 cabin paßaencere, which, having regard to the time, occasion, and circumatance of tno case, Was greater than the number of cabin passengers allowed by the steamer's certificate. The' prosecution was inßtituted by the Collector of Customs, Auckland. The case is still proceeding.
