The Te Auo (Waikafco) races were held hero on Saturday, under the management of a Maori Committee. Beautiful weather was experienced, and there waa a good attendance of the public. Tho following are the results : — Handicap Hurdles.— Discord, 10sh 101b, 1 ; Shandy, 9*fc, 2 ; Tuihoa, 9sfc, 3. Maiden Plate. — Shamrock, Bet, 1 ; Waimnri, Bst 101b, 2 ; Sunflower, 8«t, 3. Te Ado (Waikuto) Handicap.—Whihi, Bst 41b, 1; Thunderbolt, Bat 71b, 2 ; Waiwere, Bsr, 3. Hack Race.—Arena, 1; Tailoree?, 2. Pony Race.—Tiger, Bsb 41b, 1; Rabbib, 7eb 101b, 2 ; Nancy Lee, 6sb 101b, 3. Kiwitahi Stakes.—Orena, Beb 101b, 1 } Wairera, Sat, 2; Shamrock, 3. Just, before the first race a young man named Win. McLean met with a painful accident. He was holding a horse, which reared xxp and struck him on the leg, breaking tho bono. He was eeDt down to the Waikato lioipital.
