POINTS FOR ARBITRATION.

Wellington, this day. Reference baa been filed with the Clerk of Awards with the object) of bringlns the rates of wages paid to seamen, firemen, trimmers and greasers in tbe service of the Union Company and Keith-Ramsay under the notice of the Board of Conciliation. The points referred to the Board are :— 1. £1 per month increase of wages.

2. Overtime rates to be Is 6d per hour.

3. Holidays to be Christmas, Boxing Day, New Year's Day, Good Friday, Easter Alonday, Labour Day, Queen's Birthday ; full day's overtime to be paid for work done on any ef tbe foregoing, or for leaving port on any holiday or Sunday.

,4. Members of the Seamen's Union to have pre-emptive righo of employment when available.

5. Membership of the Union Company's BeneSb Society to be optional ; non-mem-bers to have equal rights to employment.

6 Abolition of engagement of hands by an agent ; tbe officers to select their own crews.

7. Permission for the Seamen's Union's representative to visit members on board ship.
